Infectious rage-swinging Swedish anticapitalist jazz-punk - Slutavverkning releases debut LP
Seasoned characters of Stockholm’s jazz, punk and metal scenes join forces in Slutavverkning and following three EPs, they are set to release their first full-length on September 1st. “Levande Charader” is an extension of the anticapitalist spirit, as well as the unique avant-garde sound of their previous work.
It was recorded by a fresh lineup featuring Per Wiberg on bass (ex-Opeth, Candlemass, Spiritual Beggars…) and Isak Hedtjärn on saxophone and clarinet (Fire! Orchestra, he also substituted recently on tour with Viagra Boys and has a free-jazz project with vocalist Sebastian Murphy called Grismask).
“The album deals with a misunderstood pig farmer who is filling holes that only get deeper the more he tries to fill them. To find the voice of this man, I did stuff with my body and vocal chords that’s not suitable to print. But it did contain nudity, pigs and various beverages.” - Jon Ekström (vocals)
“Levande Charader” will be available September 1st on vinyl, cassette and all major streaming platforms via Feral Cuts.
A record release show is set for September 8th at the House of Blues in Borlänge, Sweden. For further info on live shows and more, follow Slutavverkning on Bandcamp or Facebook.

“Freak times call for freak music, and Stockholm’s Slutavverkning delivers exactly that!”
- Maximum Rock N Roll
“It has everything from genuinely jazzy interludes to abrasive, skronky punk rock. It gets weird, and I want more!”

BIOGRAPHY
Slutavverkning first put its nose to the grindstone in 2018 to explore the sweet spot between proletarian noise-rock and unhinged acid-jazz.
On a trio of acclaimed EPs collectively titled “Music of Labour and Sorrow I-III”, core-members Pelle Andersson (guitar), Jon Ekström (vocals) and Marcus Källström (drums) were accompanied by renowned saxophone virtuoso Per Texas Johansson.
Shortly after, Per Wiberg joined on bass, while Johansson’s Fire! Orchestra bandmate Isak Hedtjärn took over saxophone and clarinet duties. The already unique sound expanded into truly outlandish territories with this, as it can be heard on their debut full-length “Levande Charader”.
Line-up:
Jon Ekström - Vocals
Pelle Andersson - Guitar / Mix / Master
Marcus Källström - Drums
Per Wiberg - Bass
Isak Hedtjärn - Saxophone & Clarinet
